The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.
I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.
Can you please tell everyone your name?
What is your job role?
Co-Founder & COO
Tell us about your company?
Crypto Copy Pros is a copywriting and design agency focused on producing web content and business literature for technical/blockchain projects.
We help our clients win investment, build an audience and promote product adoption.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the diversity and range of industries I can take part in!
Blockchain projects can innovate any industry from Agriculture to Gaming or MedTech, and it’s exciting to work in a different sector with each new client.
I’m grateful I can contribute to some fantastic ideas and help boost worthwhile causes and initiatives with my work.
What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
I feel that blockchain is at the forefront of technological and financial innovation. At any time there can be a pivotal shift in the industry caused by new regulation, technologies or influencer movement.
To serve our clients best, we have to be on the ball to meet new challenges or opportunities as they arise. This is as much a creative process as is telling a brand’s story and developing their voice.
I feel fortunate and motivated each day that I can work with clients from around the world and participate in a range of industries.
How do your co-workers inspire you?
Our individual strengths complement and bring something unique to each project we work on.
I love nothing more than seeing growth within my team from positive and constructive feedback as well as from an innate desire to learn and improve each day.
I’m a firm believer in having a team built from industry-leading experts and trainees alike. The value and experiences each can bring to a project, and myself personally is a constant source of inspiration.
How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
Learning is a huge part of our company culture, so we take every opportunity to attend great talks and courses, keep up to date with industry topics and take part in healthy debates when the moment arises.
We are open-minded and like to bounce ideas around and find alternative and fun ways to problem solve. We regularly work closely with our clients, building some rapport to get the best results and make it a positive experience for everyone involved.
What are some of the challenges of your job?
Being a tech-heavy industry, some of the concepts our clients are asking us to present are fairly abstract and need to be understood by all readers regardless of background knowledge.
It is our responsibility to adopt strict and clear methods to present technical information in a way that is palatable and offers a high level of detail – catering to all readers, but this can be challenging.
We overcome this by strategising with our team of designers, writers, techies, and marketers when producing new content for our clients such as pitch decks, white papers or infographics.
What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
Don’t be afraid to share your honest opinion with a client.
I think it’s easy to get into a trap of blindly following everything the client asks without question.
Whilst it’s definitely not a good idea to second guess everything they say – if you strongly feel they are making a choice that will negatively affect their business or project, speak up.
Be diplomatic of course, try not to tread on any toes but be assertive and speak your mind. This has helped a client or two of mine in the past, and they ultimately appreciated the honesty. Some, of course, won’t. But you can at least be happy that you kept your integrity regardless of the outcome.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Realise that the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry is evolving every day. There is no single course, talk or book that has all the answers as to where we may be six months from now.
Remember to regularly fill up the tank. Learn all you can about DLT, blockchain, finance, technology and keep up to date with new legislation, movement in the crypto markets and any new blockchain tech. Look out for the patterns in successful projects and pay even closer attention to the projects that fail and find out why.
Make it a top priority to subscribe to and follow industry experts and learn everything you can from their experiences. Take everything you read with a pinch of salt and remember to ask yourself – Has this piece been written objectively? What are the motives of the author?
