Pop Quiz, Monday with Jane Baker

Jane Baker

The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.

Can you please tell everyone your name?
Jane Baker

What is your job role?
I own multiple businesses, and I’m also a business coach & Strategist

Tell us about your company?
My coaching business specializes in helping service-based business owners create high-end packages and combine them with marketing strategies and sales processes that bring in daily leads and convert those leads into consistent five-figure cash months!

What do you love most about your job?
I love that I have the freedom to be as creative as I want, but I also love the people I get to work with, being able to help someone take their frustrations or their dreams and either turn it around or help them achieve it is an amazing privilege!

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
Either my own dreams and the fact that getting up and working means I take a step closer to them or the other thing that motivates me is the people that I get to work with and my audience

How do your co-workers inspire you?
In my industry I get to connect with and surround myself with really amazing people, they inspire me because they take action even when they have no real plan. I think it’s just an inspiring place to be in when you get to surround yourself with people who are all going after and achieving their dreams.

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
My work is fun anyway, I have fun every day, the only part of my work I dislike is admin, and I have a team who take care of most of that for me. I get to just rock up and do lives and call that “work” it’s all fun if it wasn’t I wouldn’t be doing it!

What are some of the challenges of your job?
The biggest challenge in my role is usually myself, when I start to hit my upper limits or when fear comes out to play then I can usually end up in procrastination or self-sabotage mode and catching myself before I go into it is the biggest challenge I really have.

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
You can have the best-laid plan in the world but if the person implementing that plan isn’t confident, doesn’t believe and isn’t in the right space themselves then it simply doesn’t work.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting out in your industry?
Don’t be afraid but be specific about your target market and niche, don’t get caught up in the whole “millions of views” and just focus on the 1, get the 1 to listen, to join your audience and it’ll all grow from that 1.

Thank you for taking our pop quiz today. You get an A+ for effort. You can learn more about our interviewee and their business by visiting them on the web:
