The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I am the Co-founder and CTO at Blockchain University, Inc.
Tell us about your company?

What do you love most about your job?
I am passionate about learning. At Blockchain U we are building products that are going to revolutionize how people learn and share that value.
What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
The gratification of bringing in measurable change! Every night I prioritize my top ten tasks for the next day based on what will add the most value. The next morning I wake excited and pumped to get knocking off the tasks for the day.
How do your co-workers inspire you?
I am the most inspired by an individual’s ability to persevere in tough situations and achieve results working as a team. I keep looking to my co-workers for this inspiration.
How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
I prefer having fun conversations between work, playing trivia or starting micro bets on less probable situations.
What are some of the challenges of your job?
The biggest challenge of my job is to build a business in a nascent market and sustain a team with a clear sense of success driven from their efforts. In a new market, success is not always determined by sales figures, , and the team has to be cultured to see it that way.
What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
The importance of team is very often overlooked. As a business leader, I have learnt to build strong processes and delegate responsibilities to the right team members who are culturally fit and driven by the right incentives to achieve higher results.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting out in your industry?
To be perseverant and understand your value offering very very clearly. Make a clear distinction whether you want to deliver value today or build for the future.
