The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.
I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.
Can you please tell everyone your name?

What is your job role?
Founder/Owner at Clarifications Coaching LLC
Tell us about your company?
I offer NeuroLeadership and Wellness Coaching services. As a coach, I partner with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. I use the latest neuroscience research to inform my coaching practices so that we can harness the power of my clients’ minds to help them self-actualize.
What do you love most about your job?
I love facilitating Aha! Moments for my clients, when they discover an insight about themselves or a certain situation.
What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
I am very passionate about personal development, and I truly think self-awareness can make the world a better place. When I can help people move beyond the reactionary and enact proactive changes, we all win.
How do your co-workers inspire you?
How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
I often play music and take silly dancing breaks throughout the day.
What are some of the challenges of your job?
It’s challenging to convince some people that developing self-awareness will help them in their lives. Often, people are taught to look externally for guidance and advice. But intrinsic motivation is by far the most effective way to succeed.
What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
I learned a lot from my first business, founded in 2014. It was a retail store, so there was more funding, more overhead, and more man-hours required to run it. Doing a service business this time around is less stressful and allows more flexibility.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Take the time to self-reflect and personally develop yourself as well. The more you work those brain muscles for yourself, the better able you will be to help your clients.
