The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

DriveHER is a ridesharing community designed to empower and provide a safe space for women and people who identify as women through transportation, technology, and lifestyle.
What do you love most about your job?
I get the chance to work with some brilliant and passionate women. Also, we get to hear the fantastic stories of the women we work with and come up with a solution on how to make their experience with our product enjoyable and worthwhile.
What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
My passion and commitment to seeing sustainable change in my community. I am motivated to serve the women that interact with our service.
How do your co-workers inspire you?
They inspire me by being their most authentic self. By being passionate and hardworking individuals. They Inspire me merely by being themselves.
How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
We have really intense conversations about any topic that comes to mind. We share stories about ourselves, and we enjoy meals together.
What are some of the challenges of your job?
I would say one of the challenges of the work I do as a startup is access to funding and resources that can help us scale.
What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
One of the key lessons I have learned from my journey with DriveHER is always to remember your why. It helps you through the tough and challenging times. Work with people who are more passionate and smarter than you. It helps to keep you grounded and above all Take care of yourself. You are valuable, and no amount of stress will make things move faster. A clear and rested mind is better than a stressed out one.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Just do it! That’s the hard part. Once you cross that bridge everything else comes to you.
