The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.

Can you please tell everyone your name?

What is your job role?
Business strategist, ideation coach and mentor for women entrepreneurs.

Tell us about your company?
Courses training mentoring company.
We help women and salon, and spa entrepreneurs maximize their time and profit so they can create the lifestyle they want.

What do you love most about your job?
What I love most is empowering women to transform their life from grinding every day to creating a company and life they love with great profits. I love sharing and letting them become the driver of their dreams. I love showing them it’s possible and watch their confidence grow as they apply it. I love when I see their eyes grow and they connect to the belief of YES and a positive mindset. I love working with a woman who has a powerful mindset and creating a community among us.

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
I told my husband last night that I don’t really understand why there is such a thing about NIGHT RITUALS. I don’t get it, I go to sleep and can’t wait to get up and create. I look forward to more love for people, for adventures that connect us to life, it moves me all the time, oh and that love I get every morning from my two dogs.

How do your co-workers inspire you?
I love ideas and love listening and then actually seeing ideas come to fruition, that’s how I get inspired. And, I love the YES word.

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
I’ve been in many service businesses, a salon, catering, etc., so we created funny huddles, had great music, inspiring staff meetings, we played games, we had mystery rides for fun and to explore learning. Traveled for education and always great food and coffee. Sometimes, we would have our clients be part of our games or events, and that brought us all together. Regular community outreach builds a great team…a team of kindness.
Most of all, spend time with them personally over a cup of coffee to really get to know them.

What are some of the challenges of your job?
Prioritizing the tasks and creating a “Not to do list,” so we can focus on the most significant milestone to reach our goals.

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
Every year we had our annual marketing and branding retreat to take planning out of the normal environment and had brainstorm sessions and fun. We had experts come that could share their knowledge and experience with the team. I think it’s essential to have staff meetings because they create a different dynamic and can actually be fun. I also suggest having an agenda at the meeting so you can stick to a short and sweet productive session. If not, the meetings can become too long and unproductive.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Three things:

Know why you are in it and what you want to get out of it, both personally, financially and professionally

Have a road map to stay the course

Know your numbers/finances well
