Pop Quiz, Monday with Antoine Robi Robillard

Robi Robillard

The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.

Can you please tell everyone your name?
Antoine Robi Robillard

What is your job role?
Founder & CEO of Robiii Inc.

Tell us about your company?
My company is Robiii
We specialize ourselves in the innovation, by creating new and innovative products. For example, the Rolliii is a noiseless fidget tool made to help.

In fact, innovation is so crucial for us that why we decided to name the company with the “iii” each “i” is for one stage of the innovation process: idea, invention, implementation.

What do you love most about your job?
Knowing that my product the Rolliii is helping many people to focus!

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
What motivates me in the morning to go to work, it’s might been a boring answer, but it’s only to go to work and work on my business.

I’m really passionate about that why it’s not an issue with me.

How do your co-workers inspire you?
With their spirits, their happiness, their skills, knowledge, and their life.

It’s always nice and refreshing to talk to them!

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
We love to play chess together, sometimes it’s at the end of the day or other time is when we need a little break, but for us, it’s a great way to change our mind.

Also, every two weeks a member of the team need to suggest an activity that we’re going to do. Like last time it was Paintball.

What are some of the challenges of your job?
Creating A product is hard, like for my product the Rolliii a fidget tool it has so many little stuff that you need to find an answer by yourself.

For example, when I needed to find the right bearing for my product, I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars until I found the right one!

Sometimes it’s tough you might want to give up, but you need to remember it’s only a phase and it’s going to be fine when your problem is going to be solved.

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
Don’t be a perfectionist. Perfection is only a way to hide a lack of confidence.
Aim for excellence, not for perfection!

I know sometimes it’s really hard to stop working on your project… but trust me you’re better to deliver anyways.

Like the famous quote by :
Sheryl Sandberg “Done is better than perfect.”

Also when you’re launching a new idea, project, songs… the feedback of the users is always useful to improve your project.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
You need to do it for the right reason and be dedicated to your business and your dream.

You need to be smart learn as much as you can and be a hustler a hard worker and passionate.

The last thing you need to believe in yourself because mostly at the beginning a lot of people around you are going to say that the idea is not that great, it won’t work… AKA they probably won’t believe in your dreams and project, so if you don’t believe in yourself who is going to?
