The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

What do you love most about your job?
I love connecting with people and collaborating on their vision and bringing it to life through social media.
What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
The flexibility and creative aspect of what goes into my clients. Some days I’m on set, other days I’m meeting up with potential clients, and other days I work from home or my favorite coffee shop. No day is ever the same!
How do your co-workers inspire you?
By bringing their creativity and ideas to the table and transforming an idea to a whole other level that I didn’t even think of!
How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
Since we work with celebrities as well as fashion and beauty brands one perk is being able to go to some fun events!
What are some of the challenges of your job?
Being able to juggle everything when you’re traveling with clients or have a busy schedule of events. Being organized is key!
What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
When potential clients ask you to discount your pricing they most likely don’t see the value in what you offer and want a Ferrari for the price of a Corolla. Is it worth it to entertain this client for them to the only bail after a couple of months? I always say to think of it this way: If they’re penny-pinching their marketing budget does you think they’re doing the same throughout their entire business? Probably so. Don’t waste your time on someone who doesn’t value your work. The ones that value you will pay your rate and be a dream to work with!
What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Even though you have flexibility, don’t expect it to be easy. You still have to put in the blood, sweat, and tears of any other business. Don’t expect to work traditional hours and get holidays off. You’ll always be working, but when you have the flexibility to do whatever you want and have fun while you’re doing it, it’s worth it in the end!
