The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

What is your job role?
Managing Director

Tell us about your company?
Global Sound Group are a music company based in central London. We specialise in music promotion, connecting musicians with professionals and also the latest music news.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working on new music and getting that new music into the hands of the consumer. I enjoy working on new projects and working closely with clients to meet their targets.

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
The difference I will make to musicians and labels.

How do your co-workers inspire you?
My coworkers inspire me with the optimism and positive outlook they all share.

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
We regularly carry out team building exercises which are fun and not work-related.

What are some of the challenges of your job?
The primary challenge to my job is the forever changing music industry. The music industry changes regularly and can happen quickly. Therefore, we must make sure that we are up to date with all the latest progression.

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
I learnt early on in my career that communication is key to ensuring clients are fully satisfied at all times. Keeping clients up to date with developments is a lesson I learnt which transformed the overall way our company operates. We pride ourselves on high customer service, and we have reviewed and are continually reviewing our processes to maintain this status.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Keep consistent and stick to your plans and goals. If you remain consistent and put in the hard work required, then you will succeed.
