Pop Quiz, Monday with Otatade Okojie

The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.

Can you please tell everyone your name?
My name is Otatade Okojie.

What is your job role?
I am the Ceo of Lunchbox Millionaire a business development company which is also in development for young entrepreneurs, and people with a passion for the enterprise. We offer mentoring, workshops, consultancy. I am also an influencer and referral agent for startup companies and investors

Tell us about your company?
Lunchbox Millionaire originated as a book I had written yet even though I acquired an agent for it, I now even have a tv channel for it just signed the contract last week. Through research, I saw there was a lot of potential for young people who had a passion for the enterprise to connect to key contacts who would give them access to the marketplace with the right model.

What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new entrepreneurs and hearing their stories, connecting to positive people and feeling the excitement feel the room, watching it take over their expressions as they tell you how they solve a problem. They have challenges, and like myself, I have a challenge, I suffer from epilepsy. But despite rejections and denials, I keep going because once you plant that seed, you just want to see it grow.

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
Hunger, passion, and to be quite frank a mixture of pain and the need to see my potential. In school, I was that kid the one who always got the report card that said ” Otatade has a lot of potential …but”I saw what some of those teachers didn’t see, sheer stubbornness, grit, and determination. I am determined to prove I am more than potential. I believe its great to have excellent communication skills, but you have to get to the point where talk is cheap. This is what motivates me, that despite my disability, or challenges of the past, I must conquer the present and the future.

How do your co-workers inspire you?
I like to associate myself with likeminded driven people. They are mentors, advisors, and I call them social guardians or ports in a storm. They always have wisdom about business through experience, a book, a meaningful conversation, or support. They add real value, and they are helping me build the framework that is Lunchbox. At the moment we are actively looking for investors, but we are still tweaking and working on developing the website

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
We discuss books, youtube videos, poems things that inspire us, we tell Jokes.

What are some of the challenges of your job?
Sometimes it can get a bit challenging the fast pace of it because I do a lot of connecting to bring in contacts for potential youth, and other projects are going on on the side

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
Have faith in what you can do. I work on a blog called I pitched it to an investor and was offered 2 million to turn it to an app, this was because I had a great vision and such an expansive network. I didn’t take the 2 million, but it showed me if you work hard at something, and you have a clear plan, you can reap a lot of positive rewards from it. I still work on my blog today, I call it my international address on the internet and have just started a new one. an introducer scheme for startups and investors that want to connect.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
Be patient. You won’t get results straight away, keep connecting, keep working hard, keep producing good ideas and supporting others that do. Be a good listener, be a good mentor.

Thank you for taking our pop quiz today. You get an A+ for effort. You can learn more about our interviewee and their business by visiting them on the web:
