Pop Quiz, Monday with Geoff Desreumaux

I get to make a difference, have an impact. I have worked in advertising for over 15 years, and now I get to build things that change things.

The Pop Quiz, Monday is a fun little exam that we love to give to savvy business owners. The examination is not a surprise after all since the interviewee already knew about the questions in advance. However, we can always pretend and have fun with the scenario of a young entrepreneur sitting in class nervously biting on their pencil. They are ready to take a pop quiz on a chapter that they were supposed to read the night before. Instead, they played Metroid all night on their SNES (Oops, this was me in high school). The real purpose of the pop quiz is that this is a fun way to introduce business tips from real-world experiences that you can not learn in a classroom. We want to thank our entrepreneur for being a good sport and volunteering their time to answer a few questions to help our community grow from their knowledge.

I want to introduce you to our guest today who will be taking our Pop Quiz Monday.

Can you please tell everyone your name?

What is your job role?

Tell us about your company?
Snapr connects content creators with the world’s leading brands to help them create compelling, beautiful content to be featured on their social media feeds.

Just to be clear, we are not into influencer marketing. We believe you should not have to have thousands of followers to craft great content for brands- who cares about influencer marketing anyway?

What do you love most about your job?
I get to make a difference, have an impact. I have worked in advertising for over 15 years, and now I get to build things that change things.

What motivates you to get up every day and go to work?
Like I just said, I want to make an impact, change the way things are done, improve the processes. My reward is to see how much we help our clients and creators win every day.

How do your co-workers inspire you?
My team is at the heart of everything I do. They help me be better. Nobody can do it all, or know it all. We all rely on each other to thrive. My co-founder is the smartest and most driven person I have ever met. She inspires me every day.

How do you have fun at work (team building, pranks, etc..)?
I believe humor, but also good food are key to spending quality time and build a stronger team. Our office is a very lively place. And of course, dogs are always welcome!

What are some of the challenges of your job?
Being always on is hard. I love the work, and I love what I do. Sometimes it’s impossible to switch off, and in the long term that can become a real challenge.

What are some lessons learned from a past project that you can share with us?
“Build it, and they will come.” This is the biggest non-sense one can believe. You need to constantly get out there, make noise, meet new people, tell your story and “recruit” everyone you meet to use your product or spread the word.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your industry?
The people you know, the people you meet, these are the biggest strength of any business plan. You can’t do it alone.

Thank you for taking our pop quiz today. You get an A+ for effort. You can learn more about our interviewee and their business by visiting them on the web:
