Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I am a creative entrepreneur with a passion for design, marketing, and espresso! I’m currently building Melt, a new coffee brand that makes frozen espresso shots designed to instantly transform into a fresh Americano – just add hot water, no machines or mess needed.

My focus right now is launching the brand, refining our messaging, and getting the word out to coffee lovers who want high-quality espresso without the hassle. It’s an exciting challenge, and I’m always looking for feedback and insights from the community!

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

Before I learned about GrowthMentor, I relied heavily on YouTube for insights, watching everything from marketing strategy breakdowns to startup case studies. I also read blogs and followed industry leaders on social media, but it was mostly a self-guided trial-and-error approach.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

I took a “why not” approach, just like I did with my businesses. I figured I’d jump in and take a bet on it, knowing that learning from others could only help me grow faster. Sometimes, the best opportunities come from being open to new experiences and seeing where they lead.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

Having direct access to experienced mentors has been a game-changer in speeding up my learning and avoiding common pitfalls. It pushes me to stay active and keep the pressure on, but it’s also great knowing I have a support system of people who’ve been through similar challenges and can offer real, actionable advice.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

Meta and Google Ads, growth strategies, email marketing, and e-commerce ideas.

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

One of the most impactful mentoring sessions I’ve had was with Olga Khusnetdinova Drakatos. She had an incredible ability to identify inefficiencies in my Google Ads strategy and explain exactly how to optimize my campaigns for better performance. Her advice on campaign structure, bidding strategies, and audience segmentation completely changed the way I approach paid ads. To this day, I still apply the insights she shared, and they continue to help me make smarter, more strategic decisions. Her guidance was truly a game-changer!

Based on the things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

Since applying the insights I gained from my GrowthMentor sessions, I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in how I approach decision-making and strategy. One of the biggest shifts has been in how I structure and optimize ad campaigns, I now have a much clearer process for testing, iterating, and scaling what works. This has led to better conversion rates and more efficient ad spend, ultimately driving stronger results for my business. Beyond just the numbers, these sessions have also given me more confidence in making data-driven decisions and adjusting strategies proactively rather than reactively. The ability to troubleshoot challenges with expert guidance has been invaluable, and I continue to use these lessons daily.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

Instead of spending hours trying to figure things out on my own, I can get clear, actionable advice from people who have real-world experience. It’s helped me make better decisions, refine my marketing strategy, and feel more confident in growing my business.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Insightful, Supportive, Game-Changing

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I’ve been running a WordPress agency for the past five years, focusing on strategy and process optimization to keep things running smoothly. We specialize in creating accessible websites and developing extensive checklists to ensure compliance. The main challenge we’re solving is making sure all major processes are clearly mapped out, easy to access, and—most importantly—that our developers and designers actually use them!

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

I’m part of a community of German entrepreneurs called Citizen Circle, which has been great for connecting with other entrepreneurs, each with their own specializations. Otherwise, I often found myself ruminating on challenges for weeks, overthinking things and taking much longer to make decisions.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

I first heard about GrowthMentor at an in-person event. Someone mentioned they’d just had a casual mentorship session with a CEO of a major company the night before. My first reaction? ‘That sounds too good to be true.’ I hesitated at first, but when a special deal came up, I thought, ‘Let’s go!’

Looking back, it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made—not just for expert advice, but for the headspace it frees up. The mentors genuinely care, go the extra mile, offer follow-ups, share additional resources, and even review materials when needed. That level of support—both in knowledge and emotional backing—is invaluable.

Super grateful for this community.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

What I love about GrowthMentor is the variety of experts. It feels like a buffet of knowledge where I can explore different perspectives, pick the advice that resonates most, and connect with the right people at the right time. Some months, I book three calls (and could easily do more), but even when I don’t, just knowing that the right support is only a few clicks away gives me the confidence to move forward.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

I’ve mostly discussed building processes for my agency, especially with our long-time focus on white-label WordPress development. Managing a remote team has also been a big topic, along with figuring out the right marketing strategies. Marketing is especially important for agencies since one of the biggest challenges is ensuring a steady flow of clients.

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

I’ve had the chance to speak with so many amazing mentors, but these three stand out (in no particular order):

  • Jacob Brain – My go-to for agency processes. He helped me structure my workflows and refine my business positioning.
  • Derrick Cramer – Super new, super smart. He gave me on-the-spot support for website structuring and brought a ton of good vibes.
  • Guy Chiswick – Helped me structure a website proposal. Right after our call, I had a sales meeting—and landed a €13K website project.

Huge thanks for the incredible support!

Based on the things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

I was in the middle of a sales pitch for a website project when I got timely support on how to structure the value proposition for the client. That strategic input helped me refine the approach – and I won the project for a market leader in German engineering.

My biggest takeaway? Many of the answers are already inside me, but talking things through and making sense of my thoughts helps me reach conclusions and take action.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

GrowthMentor has given me a huge sense of support, knowing that I have access to over 750 mentors, most of whom are readily available. That IN ITSELF is incredibly powerful and gives me the confidence to take bigger steps, knowing help is just a few clicks away.

It’s also helped me get better at identifying what I truly need. Plus, it’s become a great monthly ritual to check in and set my top three priorities for my agency, BockPress.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Supportive, growth-minded, fun.

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I’m a CMO with over 12 years of expertise in SaaS B2B marketing, excelling in performance campaigns, sales strategies, and content management. Currently, I’m the CMO of actiTIME, a bootstrapped B2B software company specializing in time tracking and project management. I’m focused on driving growth through strategic marketing initiatives and tackling key operational challenges to propel actiTIME’s success.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

Before discovering GrowthMentor, I would follow industry experts and dive into blogs whenever I had specific questions or challenges to tackle. I experimented a lot, trying different approaches to see what worked, and learned from the mistakes I made along the way. It wasn’t always easy, and sometimes I felt stuck, but it taught me a lot about figuring things out through trial and error.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

I signed up for GrowthMentor because I wanted access to real, actionable insights from people who’ve been in my shoes and successfully tackled similar challenges. While experimenting and learning on my own has its value, it can be inefficient and isolating. The final decision to join was made when I found mentors on the platform who I was confident could genuinely help me refine my strategies and answer my questions.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

What I love most about GrowthMentor is how easy it is to connect with people who’ve been through similar challenges and can share real, practical advice. It’s not just generic tips—it’s personalized and based on actual experience, which makes a huge difference.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

I’ve focused on discussing SEO and content strategy topics, such as recovering from Google algorithm updates, improving search rankings, overcoming traffic plateaus, and creating content that drives sustainable growth. These conversations have been incredibly valuable for tackling the specific challenges I face with scaling actiTIME’s content performance.

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

One session that really stood out for me was with Viola Eva—it was so insightful and exactly what I needed. She gave me clear, actionable advice on SEO and content strategy that really shifted how I think about things. Using her guidance, along with tips from other mentors, I was able to create a completely new approach to actiTIME’s content strategy. It’s already making a difference, and I’m so grateful for her help.

Based on the things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

The advice I received during the calls helped me take a fresh approach to actiTIME’s content strategy. The most important part is that I went from feeling lost to feeling confident, and now I have a clear plan to move forward. It’s exciting to see the positive impact already starting to show.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

GrowthMentor has helped me both professionally and personally. Professionally, it gave me clarity and confidence in tackling challenges that previously felt overwhelming. Personally, it’s been a relief to have access to mentors who truly understand my struggles and can offer actionable advice—it’s like having a supportive team by my side. Overall, it’s helped me feel more in control.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Actionable, supportive, empowering

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I am a Machine Learning Engineer with dual goals: building a YouTube channel and potentially creating a new app. I am working on two simultaneous projects: developing a YouTube channel focused on tech and personal development, and building a social travel app. The YouTube channel (@Gratitude.Driven) has already launched, and I am in the process of learning about branding, storytelling, marketing, and more. The app is in the ideation phase, and I am learning about design and building an MVP—essentially, figuring out how to bring the idea from my mind into the real world.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

I primarily conducted research on YouTube and read books. Over time, I passively gathered relevant information without following a structured study plan.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

The variety of mentors available was appealing because I knew very little about either of these ventures before starting. I understood that I would need input on every aspect of two businesses that were very different from my career.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

I have mostly discussed branding, sponsorships, marketing, and building MVPs.

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

I’ve had a bunch of great sessions, so it isn’t easy to choose just one. However, when I joined GrowthMentor, I was having a hard time prioritizing between doubling down on content creation or starting to build out my app idea. I met with Andy Wolfe to learn more about the struggles and challenges that come with being a founder, and that session gave me clarity on the direction I want to take in both the immediate and longer terms.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

I have learned a TON about branding and marketing for my YouTube channel. I also gained valuable insights into the experience of being a founder, which helped me prioritize my plans for my app.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Variety, interesting, friendly

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I’m a PhD student and co-founder of Study Stream, a SaaS platform designed to elevate productivity in human research. Our platform simplifies and accelerates the process of connecting participants with research projects, enabling faster and more efficient studies. We’re passionate about supporting researchers in pushing the boundaries of discovery and bringing impactful insights to light with greater speed and ease.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

Before joining GrowthMentor, I didn’t have any business experience, so I needed practical guidance to navigate the challenges of building and scaling a company.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

I signed up for GrowthMentor because of the access it offered to knowledgeable mentors in various fields—all at no extra cost. It felt like a valuable resource to have so many areas of expertise available.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

Since joining GrowthMentor, we have found numerous incredible advisors for our business. We’ve even made several hires, with Spyros Tsoukalas, our low-code developer, and Rebecca Brown, our new CMO. Both of these have greatly impacted our start-up’s growth, and numerous others have helped us as ongoing mentors.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

Marketing, GTM, Investment Strategies, Sales

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

There are too many to name, but Rebecca Brown and Spyros Tsoukalas stood out so much that we decided to bring them onto our team! Richard King has also been invaluable as an ongoing mentor.

Based on things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

With Spyros’s help, we now have a fully functioning MVP. And thanks to Becky, we’re filling up our pre-seed round and developing a solid go-to-market strategy!

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

Considering my limited business experience at the outset of this journey, Study Stream wouldn’t be where it is today without GrowthMentor. We still have a long way to go, but we feel significantly more confident with the mentors we discovered through GrowthMentor.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Invaluable, Brilliant, Transformative

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I’m the co-founder of Sharp Education, a B2C service-based business. We help students in high school get admission into top universities. We focus on their personal development to turn them into high-performers, and then get into strategy with them to do all the proper actions for admission.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

We were spending tens of thousands of dollars on coaching, consultants, and various programs to learn skills like sales, advertising, and marketing. Whenever we needed to learn something new, we thought we needed to set aside a budget for consultants and coaches because we thought that was the way to go.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

As we wanted to grow our skills to advance our business, we realized that we couldn’t sustain the way we were operating the business. The idea of being able to talk to multiple mentors made us feel like we could quickly learn from other experiences to make better decisions for our growth and service, rather than banging our heads on a wall over and over to figure it out ourselves. I also love how mentors on the platform are there to give back and help out, it feels like everything is super transparent as a result.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

The ability to talk to a wide range of mentors was critical. We are aware that not every mentor would be the right one for us, and to get to that point of even realizing the correct mentors we need to talk to a lot of them.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

Sales, Marketing, Refining our Unique Value Proposition

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

Dimitris Farmakis made a big difference for us! Before meeting with him, we were confused about the angle we should go about our marketing messaging and our unique value proposition. He did research on us before the call and even had questions prepared at the start so he could get a great understanding of how to help. We got some great clarity from him on how to talk to our customers, what questions to ask, and what tools we can use to move the needle toward this goal.

Based on things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

We went back to our customers and asked them a set of questions the mentors helped us come up with. We inquired and learned why they even bought from us in the first place, which helped us learn the exact messaging we needed for our marketing, content, and ads.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

Beyond tactical tips for the business, Growthmentor has inspired us to think bigger. We realized that there is a whole world of ideas, execution, and experience for us to learn from. It makes us think that we are not as unique as we think in our problems and there is more inspiration for us to draw from than we think. It’s such a safe space as well, my co-founder and I don’t feel alone in our journey anymore.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Experienced, Educational, Accountable

Tell us a bit about your company

Erin: We really have two segments of our project. There’s Readwise 1.0, which is a highlight aggregator. It makes it super easy to round up your highlights from pretty much any digital tool that you’re using for your reading, whether that’s Instapaper, Kindle, or Pocket.

And we pull all of those highlights into basically one database and make it super easy for you to review them.

And then from there you can export those highlights to your note-taking app of choice like Obsidian, Notion or Evernote.

That’s one side of our business. And then the second side is our own Read It Later app called Reader.

Basically that is an all-in-one reading tool that makes it super easy to read all of your web articles, PDFs, email newsletters, RSS feeds and eBooks.

And then, of course, same as our original product, any highlights you take in there will be exported to Readwise and then you can go on to export them to your note-taking app.

And what are each of your roles?

Erin: So I am the community marketing manager. Basically that any public facing customer service. So if you send us a tweet, I’ll reply to you. If you interact with either our Reddit or Discord server, I’ll interact with you there. I also handle all feature requests that come in over email, and then I handle our affiliate marketing program.

Eleanor: So I run the quality assurance department. My focus is making sure that we are not tripping bugs. And if there’s a bug in the app, I try to find it and help the developers figure out what’s causing it and make sure that we can get it fixed.

Abigail: I’m a general writer and I write our weekly newsletter that goes out as well as other projects that come up, so internal guides for employees, that type of thing.

Before starting with GrowthMentor, what challenges were you facing?

Erin: So I came in with two core challenges.

On the more tactical side, I wanted to learn ways in which we could build up our existing affiliate network and reach out to more of our existing users in a non-sleazy way to get more user-generated content that we could feature on our YouTube channel and in our marketing materials.

On the softer end, I wanted to work on my communication skills. We’re a fully async remote organization, so it adds a layer of challenge to the team working together. I wanted to learn how my manager and I can be more on the same page.

Eleanor: I’ve been working on a personal brand pivot now that I work for Readwise and now that my interests have changed. I was looking for ways to navigate the modern social media landscape in a way that is professional, but still not marketing.

Abigail: One big project that we’re working on right now is building out a footer for our homepage. That will serve both to help existing users find documentation that they need to understand how to use our products and then to also attract new customers.

That’s where I jumped in with Growth Mentor, looking at some editorial SEO best practices and just kind of orienting myself in that space. I also wanted to learn how to navigate time management being part of a remote async startup.

Did any one session stand out as super helpful to you?

Erin: I met with a mentor, Sarah Keffer.  She and I met right ahead of my annual review.

She was incredibly helpful just in negotiating salary and working through some points that I wanted to bring up but had been kind of fearful to talk through and I think she gave me a framework to use not only for that particular call but for raising questions and sticky situations in the future.

So that was incredibly well timed. I went into my annual review feeling much calmer, which is great.

And I had another call with Mikel Ayala, who leads growth at Atani. And he was really helpful in thinking through ways we can start reaching out to more potential affiliates, growing our network there.

He also introduced me to the strategy he used at Atani for building this really powerful community of creators that I’m actually planning to try and replicate over at Readwise.

So the booked calls were super, super tactical. I walked away from them feeling like I had a very clear framework, not only for the situation I was using, but for future situations as well.

Eleanor: Sarah Keffer was also my standout coach. She understood what the nature of my problem was and had very actionable advice. And some of the advice, I was initially a bit reluctant to consider, but she had really good reasons for the advice that she gave about things like the financial side of things.

I was really, really impressed with how targeted she was and how well she knew the landscape and her Her background was different enough from mine to be valuable, but similar enough to where we were on the same page, which was nice.

I also had a session with Lindsey Paholski. That was a little bit shorter, but she gave me some really great nitty gritty tactical advice that I found valuable.

Abigail: My session with Courtney Damji stood out to me.  She works remotely and so she had tips in that regard and we talked through like time blocking, and how to think about splitting up time between personal things like wedding planning, which she has been through fairly recently, so that was fun to get her perspective on that, and then also like travel.

We also talked time-blocking. It’s been super helpful to kind of audit my time and see where it’s going and so that’s like really helps me understand how I’m using my time.

Did you have any surprises in your sessions?

Eleanor: I was surprised at the number of people I talked to where they said that none of their clients had ever used Twitter for anything.  I was thinking “what?”

Twitter is so deeply embedded in the tech world that I was surprised to be meeting with people giving this sorts of advice that was all Instagram and LinkedIn. I thought Twitter was sort of still, not like historically, the sort of the place where a lot of things were happening.

Based on your calls with mentors, do you have either results or plans that you guys are going to be moving forward with?

Erin: I think ones that I’ve already acted on, just having some tricky conversations, having the confidence to do that. Then In terms of carrying forward things that I learned through Mikel, I’m hoping to present a new community plan to our co-founders in the coming weeks.

Eleanor: So I’ve been using LinkedIn more, but truthfully, because Eleanor Konick is not my real name, it’s been difficult to get the sorts of reach that natively come when you’re a real person on LinkedIn. But I’ve definitely felt better about getting away from Twitter so that’s happened.

Abigail:  In terms of SEO, I have an upcoming call with an SEO expert we’ve hired to help us with this project and I feel like a little more ready to go in that conversation.  Like I have a better grasp on general practices and terminology. And while I don’t think I’ll stick with time blocking, it really helped me audit my time.

If you had somebody that was on the fence about potentially signing up, what would you guys say to any reservations they might have about joining?

Erin: I was expecting my sessions to feel very sort of boilerplate, like being run through a typical process. But I found that my, in both instances, my mentors were I felt like they really tailored my sessions to my specific needs.

Even before we had the session, they both sent really detailed follow-up or like introduction messages through the portal asking me what I was struggling with and sort of collecting details. So I feel like they both came to the meeting already really knowing me as an individual.

And I was a little hesitant that they were only going to be 30 minute meetings, but we accomplished more in those 30 minutes than I feel like I have in like three or four sessions with other career coaches.

Eleanor: Unlike Erin, I’ve never really done anything like this before. I’ve always taken a sort of amateur approach to social media.

The one thing I was most afraid of was that sort of the people I talked to would be working off of the same playbook as I was working off of. But there were moments where people were in like adjacent fields or you know were not super narrowly niched down into my exact same niche where I got valuable outside perspective.

So I would say that even if you feel like you are very knowledgeable about your own niche, having that outside adjacent perspective is really valuable.

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I’m the founder of Brightroom – subscription-based platform for corporate education and networking. I’m working on making small-group interactive learning as easy and accessible as a gym membership.
As evolved as the tech may get, we need to work with others to get anywhere worth getting to and working with others is a very human skill. Building this muscle takes continuous personal and interpersonal growth, which can only be practiced with others.
So at Brightroom, we give every employee the space to grow their leadership, communication, self-awareness and collaboration skills in small groups of diverse professionals.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

I’ve been using communities, LinkedIn, other mentoring platforms and Google obviously 🙂

What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?

GrowthMentor has a fantastic pool of mentors. I could see it after a quick browse-through and have only confirmed it after I joined. And that’s how I found out about the platform to begin with – someone has recommended I reach out to Kurtis Morrison and I saw he’s offering some sessions through GrowthMentor.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

I love how easy it makes it to connect with such a vast range of amazing professionals across various industries and all over the globe.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

I’ve discussed GTM strategies, marketing, outreach, positioning, sweat equity and every conversation was insightful and helpful.

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

That’s a very hard question because all of my sessions so far have been 10/10 in terms of both utility and candor. The last one I had was with Teo Ivanov and I really liked his approach of sending a little questionnaire before the session – it allowed both me and him better prepare for the session and make the most out of the time.
I also like that the platform features a lot of strong female professionals – my sessions with Anna Tankel and Maria JD Sirotkina have been both very practical and uplifting.

Based on things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

I’ve gained better clarity on my GTM strategy and have outlined a few marketing strategies I want to experiment with. I now also have a better understanding of how VSOP and sweat equity work. It’s one of those very nuanced things that are valuable to hear real-life experiences about rather than just relying on published sources.
To me GrowthMentor is about decreasing the amount of learning I make through mistakes (which is always great, but if you can save yourself a few bruises – even better 🙂 )

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

As a solo founder, not part of any incubator or accelerator, I’m constantly faced with a range of problems without easy pathways to solutions. With GrowthMentor I feel there’s a global, best-in-class support team I can turn to.

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I am the CEO and founder of a pioneering hardware beauty tech startup named Acie. After two years of bootstrapping with a dedicated team of 12 engineers and scientists, we are now in the process of raising our Seed round.

Acie is revolutionizing the skincare industry with the world’s first AI-powered skin-sensing device for everyday use, boasting two U.S. patents. We like to think of it as the “Apple for Skincare.” Our innovative product includes a smart device paired with an app, both powered by advanced AI and bio-sensors. This allows users to take care of their skin anywhere, even from the comfort of their bed, while continuously monitoring their skin health on a daily basis.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

Before finding GrowthMentor, I used Google searches, asked ChatGPT, and watched YouTube videos. Also, I frequently turned to my network of advisors, whose expertise provided valuable insights and guidance whenever I faced a new challenge.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up for GrowthMentor?

I was offered an account on GrowthMentor by the accelerator backing my company. Once I started exploring, I realized it’s an amazing tool to learn from people with deep expertise in the challenges I’m dealing with.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

My favorite thing about GrowthMentor is how it allows me to expand my network globally in a very short time and at a very reasonable cost. I have met so many fellow founders and mentors from various countries, exchanging ideas and advice that I wouldn’t have come across otherwise.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors, and is there a specific session/mentor that stands out as super helpful?

I have had many discussions about fundraising and go-to-market strategies. The session with Jitesh Arora stands out the most! He’s incredibly supportive and resourceful. Jitesh helped me by making great introductions to several potential investors and followed up with me through messages. I really value the meeting with Jitesh and appreciate all the connections and advice he has provided.

Based on the things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

After the meetings, I transformed my pitch deck and adopted new approaches to fundraising. These improvements have significantly enhanced my journey.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

In the first couple of weeks, I met so many fellow founders who had successfully navigated the same challenges I’m facing. They come from diverse backgrounds and countries, including the US, UK, Israel, India, and Japan. Their varied experiences and viewpoints have provided me with multiple strategies to tackle my challenges effectively. I have learned a lot from these interactions!

Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.

I am in charge of marketing efforts for an Ed-Tech company with 1 co-founder. My company offers tech courses through 1:1 mentoring and orientation to help unemployed people in Germany choose the best boot camp or refine their tech skills. I lead the paid marketing efforts as a one-person marketing team. Although my main role is running paid ads, I also wear many hats, including creative and business intelligence roles.

On the side, I enjoy sharing content on LinkedIn for founders of young startups who aim to grow sustainably.

Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?

I used to go to Reddit quite a lot (I still find it useful today) and I follow good content creators who post about paid ads on LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok. These resources are useful. The old-fashioned way of googling something often led to a rabbit hole, where I would end up spending more time than I’d like to admit figuring things out.

What ultimately compelled you to sign up for GrowthMentor?

It was a no-brainer. I had never come across such an accessible platform focused on growth with this business model before. I wish I had access to it when I was working in similar roles in the past.

What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?

One of my favorite aspects is the confidence it gives me in my decision-making. Instead of doubting myself, I can validate my ideas with others and implement them faster. I love the communal aspect and the feeling of support. I also get to network with people I wouldn’t have met otherwise. The Slack group has been incredibly helpful. Sometimes I need assistance with more intensive projects, and it’s great to know there’s a community where I can get recommendations for freelancers with specific skills. I also love that the platform is so well-curated, prompting me to write effective help requests. This process helps me clarify exactly what I need, which isn’t always obvious when you’re a one-person team.

What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?

I have discussed a lot about Facebook Ads, Google Ads, automation, and personal branding.

Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?

The session with Alex Lambropoulos was extremely helpful as it allowed me to untangle the challenges of centralizing our data and achieving a single source of truth for all our marketing and sales data. Alex helped me break down my problem so I could approach it step by step. He also showed me a much simpler solution than what I had in mind, suggested tools to try, and even offered to review my use of those tools in a follow-up call. After our call, I feel much closer to getting to that single source of truth and saving time in reporting each day, solving a huge pain point.

Based on the things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?

After my session with Olga Khusnetdinova, I was prepared to start my new role with fresh ideas for Facebook Ads and once I started I was able to do a second call where I even shared my screen to validate some of the setups.

I also had a session with Stefan Secker about Google Ads which is not my main area of expertise and came up with a new structure for our campaigns.

After my call with Sunni Sukumar, I was able to determine whether the steps I had in mind to set up analytics and attribution were the right ones and it allowed me to identify what were the next steps I needed to take.

How has GrowthMentor helped you?

Growth Mentor has really helped me feel less alone in my job. It’s like having a team and a safe space to ask for help from people who’ve been where I am. Plus, it’s helped me spot things I didn’t see before. Sometimes, I’ll bring up a problem and realize there’s a much easier fix than I thought. Or that I actually have another problem I didn’t think about.

Two minds think better than one and it’s incredible how much more productive and effective I am in my role thanks to the fact that I get to speak about my ideas with someone who can serve as a sounding board and either give me advice, validate, or challenge me completely. This platform offers exceptional value for money.

What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?

Efficient, empowering, wise.
